STRINGER LOSES ONE BUT GAINS THREE 09/07/2008
Ryman League Division One North club Aveley have made their first signings for the new season.
Millers' manager Rod Stringer (pictured) has brought in Brentwood Town trio Marc Palmer, Sean Thomas and Joao Carlos.
Many Aveley fans will welcome back Palmer, who spent many seasons at Mill Field, leaving last season for rivals Brentwood.
Winger Carlos joins after having a previous spell at Clapton and was a mainstay in the Brentwood side last year, amassing fifty-four appearances.
Striker Thomas will add fire power to the front line after scoring seventeen goals in an injury-hit year at Brentwood.
One player who will not be returning to Mill Field next year is Leli Bajada. The diminutive striker was key in the Millers' excellent run towards the end of last season, scoring seven goals.
He has left to join league rivals Redbridge under new manager Jay Devereux.
