EDWARDS SNAPS UP MINTON
11/08/2002 |
|
Craig Edwards, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Grays Athletic, has been amongst the busiest bosses around during the summer, and he continued to strengthen his squad by signing the experienced Jeff Minton from Leyton Orient.
Minton (pictured), 28, started his career with Tottenham and then spent five years with Brighton before having shorter stints at Port Vale, Rotherham and Orient, totalling over 250 League appearances.
He becomes Edwards' eighth major recruit during the close seaon, joining Owen Coll, Robbie Reinelt, Jason Broom, Matt Jones, Mark Stimson, Peter Smith and Ben Lewis at The Rec.
On Saturday, Grays travelled down to Havant & Waterlooville and beat their Dr Martens League Premier Division hosts 2-0 with goals from Craig Edwards and Stafford Browne.
