ALDERTON SIGNING DELIGHTS ABBOTT 17/11/2008
Ryman League Division One South club Sittingbourne will go into Monday`s game with Walton Casuals disappointed that they were not able to push on and take points from Saturday`s Bourne Park meeting with Metropolitan Police.
Bourne lost out 2-1 as a poor run of home form continued, this still being very much
the club`s Achilles Heal at present.
Better news from the Brickies` camp, however, comes with the confirmation from boss Gary Abbott that he has signed Rio Alderton (pictured), a vastly experienced defender on a permanent basis after initially coming to the Medway town club on loan from Enfield Town of the Ryman League Division One North last month.
Abbott is delighted to have signed a player with the most impressive of pedigree, having started in the game in the youth team set up at Millwall and going on to play in the Football League with Southend United.
He has since had spells at East Thurrock United, Aveley, Leyton and Chelmsford City and will offer another dimension alongside Abb0tt`s other new signing Mark Green.
