RUGBY RETURN FOR TURNER 02/02/2009
British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division club Rugby Town have re-signed striker Jason Turner after the 27-year-old left UniBond League Division One South side Grantham Town recently.
Turner (pictured) played one game for Rugby back in 1999 and scored two goals against Corby Town.
Originally on the books at Rothwell Corinthians and then neighbours Rothwell Town, Turner came to prominence by scoring thirty goals for the Bones in 2002/03.
That led to a dream move down the A6 to Kettering Town, but he was only with the Poppies for a year before joining Histon in June 2004.
Moves back to Rothwell and then Stamford followed before he joined Grantham for the first time oin October 2004 before returning via a second stint at Stamford in September 2007.
Top scorer in previous seasons, the striker found the net fifty-four times for Grantham in 144 appearances, including hitting the target eleven times for the Gingerbreads this season in twenty-six appearances.
Meanwhile, former Gresley Rovers striker Brian Woodall has left the club to join Southern Division One Midlands promotion-chasers Atherstone Town.
