ABBEY IN CHARGE AT ARLESEY
24/06/2011
Southern League Premier Division new boys Arlesey Town have announced a change of manager ahead of the new season.

The club’s first team will be managed by former player and assistant manager Zema Abbey (pictured).

Last season’s manager Gary King, who led the team to become champions of the Southern League Division One Central and victory in the Beds Senior Cup will be resuming his role as Director of Football while Adam Turner becomes Abbey’s assistant manager.

Chairman Manny Cohen said on the appointment: “Zema did a fantastic job last season in our 120th anniversary year as assistant manager and along with Gary he helped make the team tough to play against.

"Zema has a lot of playing experience with teams such as Norwich City and we are all confident that he is the right man to lead the team to even more success next season."

Director of football King is also feeling positive about the new season when the team will play in the Southern League Premier Division.

He said: "Next season will be a real learning curve for everyone at the club which is something we will look forward to and embrace. Our ambitions are to improve as a football club on and off the field. Everyone at the club is looking forward to the task ahead."

Also introduced to the members at Thursday's AGM was Keith Coughlin who will be manager of the reserve team. Arlesey Town Reserves will compete in the Beds Premier League.
