ROOKS BORROW MAGPES DUO 23/09/2011
Steve King, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Lewes, has added two young football league players to his squad with the initial one-month loan signings of midfielder George Nicholas and goalkeeper Liam Mitchell from nPower League One side Notts County.
The players, both aged 19, have signed one year professional contracts with Martin Allen’s side.
Nicholas (pictured) is a tall midfielder who played in the recent friendly against Juventus to mark the opening of new “Juventus Arena”. He has the ability to make things happen alongside an aerial threat, and he can also revert to both defensive and attacking roles.
Goalkeeper Mitchell impressed on a loan spell at Blue Square Bet Premier side Tamworth last season and also earned a place on the bench in the Magpies FA Cup tie against Sunderland.
Manager Steve King commented: “Both players are highly rated by Martin Allen and I am delighted to welcome them to the club, they have come through the youth ranks, and Liam had a successful loan spell with Tamworth last season.”
Both player are available for selection for this weekend as The Rooks play host to second placed Cray Wanderers in the Ryman League Premier Division.
