PITCH GO-AHEAD AS OLORUNDAS JOIN STONES 13/06/2012
Ryman League Division One South club Maidstone United’s new artificial pitch has passed its FIFA inspection and is now certified for competitive use.
The pitch at the club's new Gallagher Stadium in the town was scrutinised by FIFA’s appointed synthetic pitch testing contractors Labosport last week.
It received the highest grading available and has now been added to the FA’s Register of Artificial Surfaces meaning competitive fixtures can now be played at the ground where competition rules permit.
Meanwhile, the Stones have signed brothers Tim and Ade Olorunda who were released by Tonbridge at the end of last season.
Tim, a central midfielder, previously played for the Stones in their 1-0 win over Sittingbourne last season on dual-registration from the Angels.
Ade (pictured) will battle alongside Shaun Welford, Alex Waugh, Ian Draycott and Paul Booth for a starting place in the Stones attack.
