EX-TAUNTON BOSS LINKED WITH RIVALS 20/06/2012
Paul West, controversially sacked by Taunton Town, is being linked with a possible move to Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West rivals Bridgwater Town.
West (pictured) refused to make any comment last night, but Bridgwater chairman Alan Hurford admitted: “I have spoken to Paul. I have been in conversation with him but I have nothing else to add.”
West was given his marching orders at Taunton for the “disappointing” results of the first team.
However, clearly upset by the decision, he said at the time he was “building a club for the future” by improving the youth set-up at the club rather than concentrating on first team results.
Bridgwater, who also sacked their boss Rob Dray in March, are now jointly managed by Dave Pople and Kevin Milsom.
Hurford added: “Dave and Kev are in the process of putting their plans together for next season.
“After a difficult couple of seasons we could be up and running this time.”
