NEW SIGNINGS TO BOOST CALLEVA 22/07/2012
Danny Dolan, manager of Sydenhams Wessex League Division One club Tadley Calleva, believes he has built a table topping side.
Calleva had a torrid 2011/12 season finishing up second from bottom in the league.
Dolan’s squad bagged eight wins, four draws, and 22 losses during the campaign.
But speaking to the Basingstoke Observer, Dolan said a spate of new signings, and a revamped clubhouse should help turn the teams fortunes around.
“The clubhouse finally opened on June 9 which is massive for the club and the community,” said Dolan.
“The club’s really moving forward. We have a good youth team as well. All in all we are going in the right direction.”
Dolan has captured Whitchurch midfielder Matt Aslett, central midfielder Nick Kingston from Team Solent, and proven goalscorer Ed Hall from from AFC Aldermaston.
And on Tuesday Dolan secured Hartley Wintney defensive midfielder Nick Kingston, to replace outgoing Callum Bush.
Dolan added: “We have managed to keep hold of pretty much everyone, and now have more than enough quality with the new signings.
“Everything is looking really positive. But time will tell, it is a cruel league, and a hard league but I am sure we are ready 100 per cent.
“If I can get two more signings next week, then I have more than enough quality to choose from. That makes the whole outfit stronger - the reserves will be better as well.
“Hopefully it will onwards and upwards and we can be the right end of the table unlike last year, which I am more than positive about."
