MOYSES JOINS IMPS BOARD 09/08/2012
Blue Square Bet Premier club Lincoln City have benefited from a cash boost of £75,000 after Chris Moyses joined the club's board.
The Lincoln-based businessman is the chief executive of East Midlands Contracting Ltd and has been brought in as a full director.
Moyses (pictured) has a long association with the Imps having played for the club four times during his teenage years.
In recent years he has helped support the youth team and last season worked part-time in club's youth department as a coach.
Fellow director Roger Bates believes that Moyses move onto the board is a clear sign of the club's intention to try and seek new investment.
"Chris has been involved in football locally for a long time. He brings a different set of skill and knowledge to the board and that is great for us," said Bates.
"It is not just about the injection of cash and I would not say the club were desperate for the money to get us financially stable. Things are tough, but we are working hard.
"It is huge that someone has come forward to join the board, but I'm not saying we would be in a crisis without it. It is moving us forwards.
"I hope that Chris could be the first of many. The board has always said that we are open to new investments. In the last 18 months I've been involved there have been four new directors."
Moyses is delighted to make the step up to the board and hopes he can help Imps progress.
"I am proud and delighted to be joining the Board of Directors here at Lincoln City," said Moyses.
"It's not about me though, it's about this fantastic football club and moving it forward. As such I want the people of Lincoln to get involved with the Football Club at every level and will be doing my utmost to help bring this about.
"With the new season almost upon us, now is the time for everyone to be pulling in the same direction. That is imperative if the Club is to progress, both on and off the pitch, as any negativity can only have a detrimental effect and will almost certainly hinder any progress we wish to make.
"If we can get 3,000 fans here every week not only will it give the Club some stability but it will also give the manager the best possible chance to put together a squad which is capable of getting us back where we belong.
"We all want that success to come and we all want to be enjoying our football again so I urge everyone to back the Board, manager and players this season right from the off."
