IMPRESSIVE SIGNINGS FOR SUDBURY 15/08/2012
Ryman League Division One North side AFC Sudbury have announced a handful of new signings.
Joining the club on a month’s loan from Concord Rangers is midfielder Ben Bowditch. He started his career at Tottenham Hotspur, then moved on to Colchester United and Akademisk Boldklub (Copenhagen) before joining Barnet.
He has played for a number of Non-League clubs, including Cambridge City, St Albans City, Bishop’s Stortford and last season Thurrock. He has also represented England at Under 16, 17, 19, and under 20 levels. He played 45 minutes for AFC in their last pre-season game at Bury Town.
Also signed on is front man Leon Antonie. Having originally signed for Harlow Town he got himself de-registered and signed for the MEL Stadium club. He has previously been with Canvey Island, Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree Town, Harlow Town, Brentwood Town and Maldon & Tiptree.
The third signing is Ian Cousins (pictured), a defender who can play at left back or in central defence. His previous clubs include Chelmsford City, Braintree Town, Billericay Town and Heybridge Swifts. He has featured in AFC’s last three pre-season games.
Another player who has signed on the dotted line is defender Adam Dalby, who joined the club last season from Ely City and went on to perform well for the remainder of the season.
