ALFRETON SWOOP FOR WORSFOLD 24/08/2012
Blue Square Bet Premier club Alfreton Town have signed striker Ashley Worsfold from Evo-Stik League Division One South club Sheffield FC.
Worsfold featured in some of Alfreton's pre-season games as a trialist and he has earned himself a one-year contract with the Reds and he will take over the vacant squad number 20.
Worsfold (pictured) only joined Sheffield club in the summer having looked like signing a couple of years ago before eventually moving from Goole AFC to Parkgate instead.
Worsfold has been bagging goals for Parkgate in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division ever since - 25 in fact last season. Upon signing for Sheffield FC, the 21-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday man joined his brother Aaron, who played for reserves last season, and father Craig, who made around 200 appearances for Sheffield over five seasons in the early 1990s and still plays for the Over 35's, in maintaining the family connection to Sheffield FC.
