SMITH BOOST FOR LEEK 28/08/2012
Lee Casswell, manager of Evo-Stik League Division One South club Leek Town, is delighted that summer capture Danny Smith has pledged his immediate future to the Blues despite his former club Kidsgrove Athletic sending in seven days notice of approach for the versatile defender.
Smith (pictured) is now in his second spell at Leek having spent three months at Harrison Park from August 2006 making 22 appearances.
He subsequently went on to play for Nantwich Town and Rocester before signing for Kidsgrove in July 2008.
His performances at right back for Grove over the last three seasons resulted in him being named Supporters Player of the Year in each of those seasons and he was one of four players who made the move from Kidsgrove to Leek during the summer.
