CUDWORTH JOINS MAGPIES 29/08/2012
Evo-Stik League Premier Division club Chorley have announced the signing of goalkeeper Jack Cudworth.
Cudworth (pictured), who is a local lad and the son of former Magpies central defender Nigel, arrives from Blue Square Bet Premier side AFC Telford United.
The 21-year-old started his career at Preston North End, working his way through youth system at Deepdale to the reserve side. He then moved into the League of Wales with Rhyl where he caught the eye of then Football League side Macclesfield Town and went on to spend two seasons with the Silkmen.
He returned to Rhyl on loan and then finished last season in the Blue Square Bet Premier while on loan with Barrow, where he was highly rated by their management team. However this summer he opted to join their league rivals Telford but has had to make do with a place on the bench.
Though initially reluctant to step down the divisions, Cudworth has opted to join the Magpies and is excited at the prospect of playing for his home town team and is looking forward to playing his part in a successful season.
