MERRICK DISMISSED BY WELLINGTON 12/09/2012
Toolstation Western League Division One club Wellington have announced that Colin Merrick has been dismissed as manager of the club.
The decision was taken at an emergency management committee meeting on Monday night after Wellington’s 4-0 defeat at home to Devizes, during which Merrick was sent to the stand for his protests over the visitors’ second goal.
After the meeting, chairman Mike Hall said: “We felt that, after Saturday, Colin’s position was untenable and we had no alternative but to take action.
“We would like to place on record our thanks for his efforts on behalf of Wellington AFC and wish him all the best for the future.”
Mr Hall added: “We hope to have a new manager in place as soon as possible and will make an announcement when we can.”
