CHESTER SIGN SOUTHPORT'S GRAY 26/09/2012
Blue Square Bet North club Chester FC have completed the signing of striker Tony Gray from Blue Square Bet Premier side Southport.
The 28-year-old hotshot scored 24 goals for the Sandgrounders in the Conference last season, and due to his own work commitments is unable to commit to extra training sessions required by Southport, and so Neil Young has moved quickly to secure the signing of the forward.
Young sees Gray (pictured) as a major signing for the club, saying: "Tony is just the type of player that will fit in well at the club, and ticks the boxes that we were looking for.
"Tony has seen how ambitious we are at Chester FC and was delighted to join the Club, and will go into the squad for Saturday's game at Stalybridge Celtic."
An undisclosed fee has been agreed with Southport for the striker, who has an overall record of 76 goals in almost 158 appearances for Southport.
