JONES ARRIVES AT MARINE 09/10/2012
Evo-Stik League Premier Division club Marine AFC have announced the signing of experienced centre back Paul Jones from Airbus UK.
Born 3 June 1978, his previous clubs include Tranmere Rovers, Blackpool, Barrow, Leigh RMI, Oldham Athletic, Hyde United, Droylsden, Altrincham and Vauxhall Motors.
Jones (pictured) made 26 Football League appearances for Oldham Athletic between 1999 and 2002 but made his name in the English Non-League pyramid, making 249 appearances for Barrow in two spells and winning a Northern Premier League championship medal and the FA Trophy.
Leaving Barrow for a second time after captaining the club in a 2-1 FA Trophy final win over Stevenage in 2010, he joined Blue Square Bet North side Droylsden on a one-month loan in a bid to improve his match fitness but joined Altrincham in July the same year before being released and signing for league rivals Vauxhall Motors.
He signed for Airbus in August 2012.
