CANARIES SWOOP FOR STEWART 15/10/2012
Hitchin Town have signed Callum Stewart from Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division rivals St Neots Town.
Cambridge born Stewart (pictured), who scored twice against the Canaries earlier this season, made his debut on Saturday against Frome Town. He marked his first game with a goal in Hitchin's 2-0 win.
Stewart, 22, has played for Hampton & Richmond, Histon and Bishop's Stortford and can play in defence and midfield. He was also with the Ipswich Town Academy and the Cambridge United Centre of Excellence.
"As we saw today, Callum has leadership qualities that will add something to our team. I am delighted he has joined us," said Carl Williams.
Ben Islam, the former Cambridge City full back, has left Hitchin Town.
